Google partnered with Chicago education institutions to show that it’s cool to be into science and technology, and Brown Pelican WiFi provided the WiFi. Free transportation meant that 1,500 kids were able to partake in the first Chicago Geek Street Festival, an outdoor fair hosted by Google and the city of Chicago to inspire and encourage participation in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) fields. The event also afforded visitors the opportunity for face-to-face interaction with professionals in STEAM fields.
