The AARP Foundation assists lower-income adults with several aspects of life such as food, housing, and a sustainable income. AARP is known for its collaborations that arise to solve problems and create bonds among the community while helping older adults. During 2017, AARP hosted several Summer of Service to Seniors Events that featured meal packing to support seniors. These events occurred across the country in five states, and Brown Pelican was proud to support the two-day event on September on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The 2017 event series created approximately 4 million meals for seniors and veterans in order to combat the problem of food insecurity – a problem believed to double in the senior population by 2040.
Brown Pelican WiFi installed a temporary, private and secure WiFi network at the National Mall in Washington D.C. for staff and internal staff to access to run this large event. The WiFi network was fully managed and monitored during the two-day event to ensure the best WiFi experience possible with no downtime.
