On September 28th, 2017 at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, Nicholas Woodman, the founder and CEO of GoPro, launched the new GoPro HERO6 Black and Fusion Cameras. During the launch, Woodman introduced the camera’s features, including its custom-designed GP1 processor, 1080p240 video capability, and advanced stabilization. The event was delivered to an international audience, and along with HERO6 Black, Fusion, a waterproof and mountable camera, was also launched. Woodman stated that with these new products “It’s never been easier to live it, then share it… using a GoPro.”
Brown Pelican was selected to provide a temporary WiFi network for this event. The fully managed network was installed in the East garden of the California Academy Sciences, as well as in the Planetarium. The secure WiFi connection allowed press on-site to cover the launch and announce it to their networks, and provided a connection for staff and GoPro personnel.
